MBS Systems Training Forum Agenda 

MBS Systems Training three-day forum will provide you with extensive tips and hands-on practice with your MBS Systems applications. For your convenience, two sessions will be hosted: October 3-5, 2017 and October 31 - November 2, 2017.

Hover over each session name to read a more detailed description. Once you know which sessions you'd like to attend, register for training.

Unless otherwise noted, all application sessions will be using Arc. Sessions that contain a  include hands-on detail. Please plan to bring a laptop or other device to access your applications if attending one of these sessions.

inSite and POS: Getting the Most Out of Your Loyalty Program:

Review options for building the loyalty program in the application and on inSite. See how loyalty has evolved with management options in Merchandise and transaction options on MBS POS. Discuss account and redemption catalog management, and overview ways points can be used. Work with other industry leaders to explore ways loyalty is used in their stores and what to look for as you plan your loyalty programs.

Ensure the integrity of invoices coming from receiving and returns in Textbooks and Merchandise. Explore the features Accounts Payable provides for working with invoices and additional expenses. Investigate special circumstances, including partial or priority payments. Discuss options such as Accounts Receivable and Department Charges for managing receivables. Work with ways SFA can be used to manage these charges, and review how SFA and AR work together for billing. Review AR options for payments and processing, and discuss best practices for maintaining your billing cycles.

Use report information from your POS and Daily Sales to verify sales reconciliation. Discuss common reasons for report differences and how to manage these. Verify sales reconciliation against the Sales Audit reports.

Work within Sales Audit to verify how drawer counts are effectively entered. Explore the GL Edit report and discuss how inaccuracies can be corrected. Review process for how holdings can be submitted when sending to a General Ledger.

Explore your Textbooks and Merchandise and Accounting modules for monthly process verifications and discuss the importance of completing processes within the month. Study Month to Date reporting and see how these change as months are closed.

This group study on Manager Report Generation creation will walk through creating custom reports in both TA2 and GM2. Discuss success stories with MRG’s, and work with post-creation options for advancing the efficiency of custom reports.

Accounting: Getting the Most From General Ledger

Discuss the areas within Merchandise and Accounting that affect your General Ledger, and study how entries are sent to GL from these areas. Discuss verification for ensuring your ledger is correct and closing your periods. Explore what makes up your accounting reports to determine how Financial Report Information and Profit and Loss is generated.
